CHORLEY BC TREE GIVEAWAY
9th of October, 2024
Chorley Council have planted over 150,000 trees and hedging plants across the Borough, hitting the original target of over 116k, a tree for every resident by 2025.
A new challenge has been set to plant 23,000 more, as part of this commitment we’re running another tree giveaway for Chorley residents, where you can pick up a free tree for your garden to provide wildlife habitat and improve the environment.
If you have space within your garden and would like a free tree, you can reserve one online at chorley.gov.uk/treegiveaway to collect at the tree giveaway event on Saturday 23 November at Strawberry Fields Digital Hub, 9am – 3pm.
There’s also information on the link about the species available to help you pick the most suitable tree for your garden. All the trees available are British species which have berries, fruit or flowers to support different species of insects and birds.
The sign-up window will close on the 27 October 2024.
A reminder will be sent to everyone who signs up nearer the collection date.
In addition, at Strawberry Fields Hub on the 23rd November we will also have a recycling bin for small electrical items such as hairdryers, kettles, toasters and CD players. Nothing any bigger than these items please. We will also have a battery recycle point too!
We would love to see photos of your trees from previous years, are they growing well? Send us your pictures to [email protected]
